Last month, ESPN listed Los Angeles Lakers senior citizen Kobe Bryant as the 93rd best player in the NBA.
And while people were incredibly skeptical about Kobe’s seemingly low placement in the rankings, Kobe hasn’t done a lot to impress in the Lakers’ first couple of games. In three games this season, Kobe is shooting 31.4% from the floor (20.7% from three) while averaging 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
As for his own rankings, Kobe isn’t even placing himself anywhere near the ninety-third best player in the league:
“Yeah, I’m the 200th best player in the league right now.”
Kobe, as always, was blunt about his performance so far this season:
“I freaking suck.”
The Lakers are 0-3 to start the season. It’s hard to see that turning around unless Kobe starts playing like… one of the 100 best players in basketball (who are we kidding, this team is headed to the lottery).
