Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett got tangled up under the basket as Howard was looking for an in-bounds pass in the early minutes of Monday night’s game between the Houston Rockets and the Brooklyn Nets.
One thing led to another and before you knew it, Garnett was headbutting Howard and Howard was shoving Garnett in the throat.
The two had to be separated and Garnett was thrown out of the game while Howard was assessed a technical foul. The Rockets would go on to win the game 113-99.
The NBA has since looked at the incident and it’s been decided that Kevin Garnett will be suspended for one game without pay while Dwight will get a $15,000 fine. The punishments seem fair. Although KG may have been the more aggressive of the two (after all, it’s KG), Howard definitely had a role in escalating the situation.
So, add this to the mounting evidence that KG is a bit of an asshole and opponents seem to really not like Dwight Howard.
