At this point in the NBA season, the conversation around the league’s most valuable player revolves around two players…maybe three (CP3, maybe?), but mostly two: LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
LeBron is averaging just under 27 points a game on better than 50% shooting, while grabbing 8 boards and dishing out over 6 assists a game. Those are certainly MVP numbers. Durant’s MVP campaign isn’t shabby either–KD is averaging nearly 28 points and 8 boards while having his young team focused on championship rings.
Durant is probably the fan favorite among the two and he made himself even more like-able in comments to the Oklahoman. KD thinks the award belongs in South Beach:
“He deserves all the love (for MVP),” said Thunder forward Kevin Durant. “He’s playing phenomenal basketball. I’m just trying to get better every single game and trying to help my team as much as I can. I’m just blessed to be in that conversation.”
What say you? Who’s this year’s MVP?
