Some call New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith a knucklehead and to those people I say, you’re being way too kind. After being warned by the league for his first untying of Dallas Maverick Shawn Marion’s shoes, which was funny, Smith tested his limits by attempting to untie the shoe of Gregg Monroe of the Detroit Pistons. On Wednesday Smith was fined $50,000 by the league for “recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct.” J.R. is entertaining, but he is also a complete dunderhead. This goes down as one of the dumbest fines for a player of any sport to receive in the history of sports.
