Larry Brown — by virtue of winning both an NCAA title and an NBA title — is, undoubtedly, one of the most successful coaches in the history of basketball. As someone who coached many years at both levels, you’d think he’d have only sane thoughts on the notion of great college teams being able to compete with bad NBA teams. Clearly, that is not the case. In fact, Brown even took that insane thought one step further:

For the 8,567th time: no college basketball team would ever beat the worst NBA team, let alone win enough games to make the playoffs in a terrible conference. Sure, this year’s Kentucky team is undefeated, has multiple lottery picks on its roster, and very well could become the first undefeated champion since 1976. That doesn’t change the fact that even the Philadelphia 76ers — who we make fun of a lot for not having NBA players on its roster — have 12 guys who are currently playing in the NBA (maybe not for long, but still). No matter how much of Kentucky’s current roster gets burn at the next level, it won’t be equivalent to an entire NBA lineup.
In fairness to Larry, if I was hiccuping for 24 hours straight, I’d probably start spouting off nonsense as well.
Larry Brown says he’s under the weather, has had the hiccups for the last day or so.

Kudos to coach SMU coach Larry Brown — pressing on at NCAA Tourney press conference despite worst case of hiccups in his hiccups history.
