One of the more memorable moments of the NBA offseason was this photo of Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and LeBron James that was taken in the Bahamas this summer.

The picture went viral because how could it not. Chris Paul referenced this banana boat in a Tweet that he sent out during The DeAndre Jordan Emoji War of 2015. LeBron James feigned complete ignorance about the whole incident on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Now, months later, Gabrielle Union has come forward to take unintended credit for the picture. While speaking with Fallon on The Tonight Show, Union admitted that the banana boat ride was her idea and that the other three were initially hesitant to get on the boat together for fear of being photographed.
“Everyone was very geeked to get on this banana. We had been a little nervous the first couple days about paparazzi and getting photographed in a compromising position or something…It was the only thing we had not tried on the boat. I was like, ‘Guys, we have to do the banana. No one is even going to see this!’”
I’m glad Gabrielle was wrong about no one spotting the boat because that picture is one of the most entertaining NBA-related media this side of a Chris Bosh video bomb.
