The Los Angeles Lakers always seem to be a media circus, regardless of the era. This year the Lakers have predictably been all over the headlines again after drafting the son of superstar forward LeBron James, Bronny James,  in the second round despite a short collegiate career that left a lot to be desired in terms of production.

Despite the cries of nepotism surrounding Bronny, it looks as if the cycle is repeating itself with LeBron’s youngest son, Bryce.

Bryce recently announced that he would be playing college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats, one of the nation’s top programs. However, according to one basketball reporter, Bryce’s play on the court isn’t up to par with what most would expect from an Arizona commit.

“Bryce James, a 6-6 wing and the son of LeBron James, just announced his commitment to Arizona. His stats in 5 Peach Jam games this past July: 5.6 points 2.8 rebounds 1.0 blocks 3-17 from 3 (18 percent) 22.2 minutes per game,” reported Jeff Goodman on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Another James kid that should’ve gone the mid-major route,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Why aren’t they good? Like, better genetics and access to training .. they should be more than solid,” one fan added.

“Sounds like the next Lakers 1st round pick (and shortly thereafter becoming a mid G-League player),” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bryce reaches the NBA.
