Things got pretty awkward during the NBA Draft on Thursday night when ESPN’s Shelly Smith asked Los Angeles Clipper coach Doc Rivers about comments ESPN NBA analyst and noted Boston Celtics fan Bill Simmons made stating that Rivers “quit on the Celtics.”
Doc responded by saying “I would like to call him an idiot, but I’m too classy for that. That’s just his opinion, that didn’t happen. He really needs to know the whole truth, which he doesn’t.”
Simmons then fired back by saying that Rivers’ story “keeps changing” and that he needs to “own up to what he did.”
Awwwwwwwkward.
