I was lucky enough to see an early screening of Baron Davis’ documentary he has been working on called ‘The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce’ and I can honestly say it was fantastic. Living in California I have spent that last few summers attending D-League games, but have never had a chance to really learn about the history of the league. The documentary provided more than enough back story and did it in a wildly entertaining fashion.
My team and I have been working on The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce, for over two years now. This has been one of the most challenging yet amazing journeys, since we are driven to make a film that truly celebrates The Drew, LA Basketball and it’s history. It is a culture of basketball and a history that has been long overlooked. This is not just a sports documentary– it’s a story about family, community, and the lessons we learn through basketball.
This week Baron and crew launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise $100,000 in just 30 days to support the release of the film. I for one will be donating, and you should as well. To donate head on over to Indiegogo or CLICK RIGHT HERE. The website will give you all the information you need to make your own decision on if you should support or not.
