The Philadelphia 76ers appeared to be a team on the rise after last summer — they’d knocked off the No. 1 seeded Bulls in the playoffs(*), they were involved in a blockbuster trade that netted them arguably the second-best center in the NBA. Yet more than halfway into the 2012-13 season, they’re four games out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, and their now-probably-not-the-second-best-center-in-the-NBA Andrew Bynum has played more Pop-A-Shot minutes than minutes in a Philly uniform. Somehow, Bynum has still managed to be the most entertaining aspect of this otherwise forgettable Sixers season, thanks to a litany of absurd hairdos.
In a related, much less interesting story, Bynum provided an update on his rehab progress. You’re not going to believe this, but he’s still a “couple of weeks” away from getting back on the court.
