During Game 4 of the World Series on Sunday night, Tim McCarver did his best to attempt to make sense of the crazy obstruction call that ended Game 3 and gave the Cardinals a 2-1 series lead the previous night. Unfortunately for McCarver (and everyone listening), he really didn’t say anything at all but instead just talked in a big circle for nearly 30 whole seconds.
Here’s a full transcription of his “explanation”:
“A lotta rules that either imply directly or indirectly that umpires’ decisions, uh, often, or, an, an umpires’ judgement often, uh, it’s an umpire in this particular case thinks obstruction, a guy in, a guy obstructed and impeded a guy going to the next base, he could call it, otherwise, no call.”
Okay, Tim…sure…whatever you say.
