I don’t think I have ever seen a baseball player intentionally catch a pitch with his bare hands, but it has finally happened and there is video. As you can see from the above video a pitcher for some high school threw a wild pitch which was going to hit the right handed hitter, but his quick thinking allowed him to bare hand grab the pitch before it hit him.
Apparently the young man was awarded first base on a hit by pitch call. The video comes from Max Preps, and the only available information is that the batter’s name is apparently ‘Jojo.’ If anyone has more information about when this went down, we are all ears.
