Sure, there are still approximately 100 billion regular season baseball games to be played before the MLB playoffs. That doesn’t mean it’s ever too early to check in on the odds on the eventual World Series winner.
Of the early favorites, there aren’t many surprises. The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers are viewed as having the best odds of winning the pennant this year with +700 each. The Washington Nationals slightly trail behind those two teams with odds of +900. The St. Louis Cardinals and the red-hot New York Mets (!) tie for the next spot with odds of +1200.
Last season’s champs, the San Francisco Giants, currently have the 20th best odds at +4000. Even the oddsmakers know not to bet on the Giants in an odd-numbered year.
Here’s the whole (still mostly speculative) odds for every MLB team, courtesy of SportsBook.
