Here’s a pretty bizarre highlight from yesterday’s Athletics-Mariners game in which Seattle’s Kyle Seager hits a line drive off of the first base bag. The ball bounces off the bag and ricochets right into the glove of A’s pitcher Sonny Gray, who steps on first to record the out. Technically, the play was ruled unassisted…but that’s only because the first base bag doesn’t wear a uniform.
