Red Sox pitcher Wade Miley was atrocious on the mound during his team’s 6-5 loss in Baltimore on Thursday night. But if you asked him, he would have adamantly disagreed with that assessment.
Miley was yanked after giving up nine hits and five runs in only four innings, including three home runs. The outing raised his ERA over 5 and continued their road woes, dropping their away record to 12-20 and overall record to 27-34. But the real fireworks came after Miley was told he would not return to the game in the fifth inning. And, as pointed out by For The Win, NESN studio analyst Dennis Eckersley, added even more excitement to situation by blasting Miley during their postgame coverage:
