With Spring Training on the horizon, Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis has emerged from his offseason cave or deserted island to debut a new, “fluffier” look.
The usually well-groomed Markakis now has a curly fro with a pretty grizzly beard, making him look more like a 70s disco icon (or Raffi from ‘The League’) than a professional baseball player.
Maybe Nick watched the 2013 playoffs and just felt inspired by the lack of grooming from the championship Red Sox squad. It’ll be interesting to see if he keeps the look for the upcoming season or finally finds a razor in Orioles camp.
