It’s shocking that more pitchers are hit with line drives.
They stand just 60 feet, six inches from home plate and are oftentimes 50-55 feet from the plate when completing the delivery, one that routinely ends with the hitter whacking a rock-hard ball 90-100 MPH into the field of play.
Bowie Baysox (Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) pitcher Ashur Tolliver not only reacted to a ball hit directly at him, he caught it … with a BARE HAND.
