That play may be the most impressive play of the season considering that LaTroy Hawkins is 40 years old. Not only did Hawkins bail the Mets out of the 8th inning, he did it in style.To have both the instinct to drag his back foot and the athleticism to actually make sense of the terrible toss by the terrible Ike Davis is more impressive than pretty much every web gem we’ve seen this season.
I hope Ike Davis knows he almost killed Hawkins there, good on Mike Moustakas for not turning that play into a blood bath.
