Thursday night it was announced Marlins star Dee Gordon will serve an 80-game suspension after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, and Justin Verlander is none too pleased with the way the situation was handled.
Gordon was still allowed to play while his appeal was pending, but news of his suspension was announced Thursday because the appeal was dropped. The fact Gordon was allowed to play for a while after testing positive didn’t sit well with Verlander, who vented on Twitter about MLB’s PED rules.
