John Middleton had no interest in brushing off Jonathan Papelbon’s comments about his former team. Middleton, son of the Phillies billionaire owner of the same name, reacted in amusing fashion when reading the former Philly closer’s comments on the team’s desire to win:
Shut up, Papelbon. You’re gone like you wanted. Sorry you’re still not going to the playoffs. Moron. http://t.co/gSYSOUSXFt
— John Middleton (@johnmiddleton) September 15, 2015
All things considered it’s not the least bit surprising that Papelbon made disparaging comments against the franchise that repeatedly requested a trade from, nor is it surprising that the owner’s son is fussy. And we can only assume Middleton was thrilled when Papelbon blew a save against his former team on Wednesday night.
