Ryne Elvers, who pitches for Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, Ill., nailed a bird who found itself in a bad spot in-between the mound and home plate. The pitch of course conjures up memories to the famous Randy Johnson bird incident, even if this was in a high school game. The good news here is that the bird somehow shook off the fastball and flew away, alive but we assume a bit shaken.
