Giancarlo might not play in Miami anymore, but Marlins fans still showed their love for the New York Yankees slugger.
Stanton, who was traded to the Bronx this offseason in a poorly received deal for the Marlins, played in Miami for the first time since the deal. Fans greeted Stanton, who played eight seasons with the team, with a standing ovation.

Marlins fans still might not be happy with the deal, but there’s no reason to hold anger or angst at Stanton as he didn’t force a trade. In a perfect world, he’s still a Miami Marlin. Unfortunately, Derek Jeter took over the team and gutted it with little return. So Marlins fans will always respect Stanton as he’s one of the best players in franchise history – he just wheres pinstripes now.
