Ken Griffey Jr. might have become of the best baseball player of all time if not for a barrage of injuries that slowed and eventually derailed his career. After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1987 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, the Pennsylvania native was a 13-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, and 1997 AL MVP. He was also a four-time AL home run champion, three-time Home Run Derby champion and seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner.
Over his 22-year career, Griffey appeared in 140 or more games only 10 times but still managed to hit 630 career home runs and rack up 1,836 RBI, 524 doubles and 184 steals.
