Kris Bryant’s much-anticipated Major League debut didn’t go quite how he and Cubs likely envisioned.
Sure, Bryant made this ridiculous defensive play.

However, Bryant’s offense left a lot to be desired on Friday. Not only did Bryant go 0-4, he also struck out three times. And since the best time to overreact to anything is on a guy’s first day on the job, one person in the crowd gave Bryant a loud and blustery hot take of “YOU SUCK” after Kris struck out with two runners in scoring position during the fifth inning.

According to the New York Daily News, Bryant stated that he only got three hours of sleep before the game so perhaps a good night’s sleep is in order.
Considering that Bryant hit .425 and racked up 9 home runs during spring training and went for .321 and three home runs in 28 at-bats for Triple-A Iowa, these 0-4 days are probably going to be rarer and rarer as Bryant gains more experience.
Or he may flame out because “Cubs.” Only time will tell!
