Derek Jeter is more than just a shortstop. He’s also an experienced, wise, and savvy veteran. And he pulled a pretty sly trick on Jason Kipnis to turn a double play.

With Kipnis on first base, the batter at the plate, Asdrúbal Cabrera, popped up a ball towards third base in foul territory. Zelous Wheeler snagged the ball and threw across the diamond to first base for the double play, as Kipnis was late to return to the bag. You might be wondering, why was Kipnis so late to the bag?

Because he got Derek Jeter-ed.

In other news, Derek Jeter also made the All-Star Game despite putting up pretty shitty numbers so far in his last season as a pro. But hey, at least he’s a savvy veteran.
