The Red Sox got blown out by the Yankees on Sunday Night Baseball in the Bronx last night, but that didn’t stop David Ortiz from having some fun at the expense of his former teammate Jacoby Ellsbury. While standing on second base, Ortiz shouted “Hey rich bitch!” in Ellsbury’s direction.
The center fielder, who left the Sox when the Yankees gave him a $156 million contract two years ago, acknowledged Ortiz’s trash talk with a subtle head nod – indicating that he’s aware the $21 million he’s making this year is pretty nice.
I’m not really sure Ortiz’s $15 million payout this season would stick him in the “poor bitch” category, though.
