Carlos Beltran is a man of his word. Last year when he and former teammate Jon Niese were playing for the New York Mets, Beltran jokingly offered to pay for a nose job for Niese after overhearing him talk about getting surgery. This past October, Niese went through with the procedure and Beltran, now with the St. Louis Cardinals, is honoring his word and paying the $10,000 bill. Beltran just signed a two-year, $26 million contract with the Cardinals this past offseason so this definitely won’t break the bank, but he joked with reporters saying there should be a ‘check-presentation ceremony.’
In the picture below you can see the old nose (right) and the new, much straighter nose (left).
