This is not the first time this young baseball season that a hit-and-run call has produced a hilarious half-hearted swing attempt at the plate, but both have involved the Texas Rangers.
The first one came from Mariners’ third baseman Kyle Seager as he attempted to hit a Colby Lewis pitch in the dirt, but this lunging swing by Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus on a pitchout just may top it. Although Andrus may not have made contact, you certainly can’t fault him for lack of effort.
Andrus might want to take lessons from this kid on how to hit pitches out of the zone.
