In what could be the most adorable attempt to get a teammate into the All Star Game, Braves players and fans have begun pushing for first baseman Freddie Freeman to get the final fan vote with some creativity.  How? A quote from Mark Berman of MLB.com explains:

Playing off the fact that Freeman has become known for the frequent hugs he gives teammates before, during and after games, Braves players showed their support on Tuesday afternoon by wearing T-shirts that read: Hugs for Votes #VoteFreddie.

It’s really something special and it does not stop there.  Of course, fans can now purchase tee shirts as with any fun cause, and even some ATL notables have taken to Twitter to get the word out there:

Freeman is certainly a deserving candidate batting .305 with nine home runs and 56 RBI.

Yeeeeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!! Maybe I’m a sap, but this is the type of thing that makes baseball truly great.  The only thing is I’m not sure what “Hugs 4 Votes” actually means.  Is Freddie doing the hugging, or are we all supposed to just spread the love?  Am I supposed to ask for hugs and in exchange submit a vote for Freddie?  Regardless, it sounds like a good time, and I could use some more hugs.
