San Francisco is the hometown of Metallica so it makes perfect sense that AT&T Park honor the infamous rock band. On Friday, May 3rd it will be “Metallica Night” before the San Francisco Giants take on the rival Los Angeles Dodgers. The members of Metallica will throw out the first pitch as well as perform the National Anthem. However Giants pitcher Barry Zito got to celebrate with the band early and was even invited to Metallica’s headquarters, where he had the opportunity to jam with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo. Zito selected his favorite song, “Fade to Black” to play with the legendary rock band.
