For the second straight season, the Pirates were eliminated by the hottest pitcher in the game, with the Cubs’ Jake Arrieta pitching a complete game, four-hit shutout in the Wild Card game on Wednesday night. The Pirates also managed just four hits against Giants’ ace Madison Bumgarner last year.
Many folks joked that this awesome little Pirates fan should’ve been given an opportunity to take some cuts against Bumgarner last year since none of the other players could figure it out.
Not only did Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle elect not to use the youngster in that game last October, he also chose not to call his name again this year:
This young @Pirates fan does a pretty great @joakimsoria impression: http://t.co/AphJ1CyHLG pic.twitter.com/nK41Lekctn

Maybe Hurdle will finally learn next season.
