Alex Rodriguez received a mixed reception of boos and cheers walking up to his first at bat in his return to Yankee stadium, which is a bit of a surprise considering the back-and-forth saga throughout the season, capped of with A-Rod’s skirting WFAN’s Mike Francesa’s question of whether he trusted the Yankees. Yet what shouldn’t be a shock to anyone was the wave of boos following A-Rod’s strikeout moments later. Furthermore, the reaction as a whole is a summation of the expectations of New York sports fans who are ever faithful one minute, and quick to turn the next if not given immediate results.
