A man fell out of the stands reaching for a baseball that was thrown his way during the Texas Rangers’ game Thursday night. He fell about 20 feet and was later pronounced dead.
The accident happened in the second inning after Oakland’s Conor Jackson hit a foul ball which Josh Hamilton went after and tossed near the fan. The fan seemingly grabbed the ball at first but fell head first out of the stands.
It is almost a year to the day since someone fell from the upper deck of the Ballpark in Arlington last July.
Our heart goes out to the fan and his family, such an awful tragedy.
