Mike Green of the Washington Capitals was gearing up for a impressive check on Jesse Joensuu of the Edmonton Oilers, but it didn’t quite go as planned. Joensuu played the part of the matador and quickly moved as Green charged. Instead of inflicting pain on Joensuu he may have only hurt himself and his ego as he flipped into the Capitals’ bench.
But if you ask Green, he’ll tell you that he meant to go to the bench for a quick change.
