Jabari Parker
The 6-foot-8 Parker, who turned 17 this past March and has already solidified a name for himself in the hoops world, as he has been named the 2011-12 Gatorade National Boy’s Basketball Player of the Year. Becoming the 4th high school underclass man to receive the award, Parker has led Simeon Career Academy of Chicago Illinois to 3 consecutive Class 4A state championships. At 220 pounds the youngster is a rising star and one hell of a player. This past season he averaged 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 3.4 blocks and 1.5 steals a game. It will be very interesting to see how Parker responds to instant fame at such a young age. If he can stay focused on school and his game, the sky should be the limit for this special talent… we wish him the best of luck…
