Starting April 11th, the first day of NHL playoffs, NBC will be putting a 21 foot high, 6,600 pound fountain in the form of the coveted Stanley Cup in NYC’s Times Square for three days. The extra cool part about this is the fact that you can drink out of it from spouts at the base of the fountain out of reusable souvenir cups provided by the NHL, NBC Sports Group, and NYC Water. It will pump approximately 120 gallons of water per minute.
Pretty impressive. The only way this could get any cooler would be if the fountain was pumping beer.
