The 3,000-meter steeplechase at Saturday’s Robison Invitational can be more dangerous than it may first seem. Check out the below video which is baffling to me in a couple different ways. 1) What was she thinking? 2) Why the hell did she run right into this bar?
Deadspin explains:
Let’s give BYU senior Katy Andrews some credit here. She’s the one who uploaded this video of herself failing to negotiate the water jump during the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Saturday’s Robison Invitational. “I think I caught the toe of my spike a couple steps before the barrier,” Andrews writes on the video’s YouTube page. “I don’t remember smacking the barrier…only being completely submerged in the water haha.” She also says she bruised her thigh and hit her head, causing it to bleed. Andrews did manage to run for two more laps before bowing out, but she’s pretty much given us the best laugh we’re likely to have all day.
