Andrew Smith, a former star forward for Butler, passed away on Tuesday morning. His wife, Samantha, has been blogging and tweeting messages about his battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma over the last two years.
Last week, she announced that his conditioned had worsened significantly and he would need a miracle. Unfortunately, that miracle never came and Smith passed away at the age of 25:
Please pray. Pray so very hard. We need a miracle & Andrew asked me to have you all rally with us in prayer in this moment.

Andrew peacefully passed away in his sleep and in my arms as I told him I loved him this morning. Love you always, Smith.

Sending lots of prayers and thoughts to Andrew, Samantha and their friends and family. Unbelievable.
