It took Novak Djokovic four match point saves to defeat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in their French Open battle, Tuesday. The top-seeded Djokovic did the seemingly impossible in front of an energetic crowd to defeat the home favorite Tsonga, 6-1, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 6-1.
The victory gave Djokovic his 26th straight win in the majors. He will now face Roger Federer in the semifinal. Federer gave Djokovic his last Grand Slam loss last year, ending the Serbian’s 43-match winning streak. If Djokovic wins, he will hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time, joining Rod Laver and Don Budge as the only men to do so.
