Tiger Woods Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

PGA Tour star Tiger Woods has battled significant injuries in recent years that have negatively affected his golf game. But despite this, Woods shared on a recent appearance on the Today Show that he still plans on competing in the final three major events of the year.

We last saw Woods at the Masters in April where he battled through tough playing conditions in the first two rounds of the event to make the cut and play the weekend.

Unfortunately, things spiraled out of control on the weekend for him, ultimately finishing at 16-over par, the worst score of any player to play the weekend.

Much like the 2023 Masters, Woods appeared to be battling some serious discomfort in the final two days of the event due to the nagging lower body injuries that don’t appear to be going away anytime soon.

But still, Woods detailed that he plans to play in the next three major events over the course of the next three months.

“I have three majors in the next three months,” said Woods. “Hopefully that will work out.”

However, Woods did share that he was “very sore” after the conclusion of the Masters, which was fairly obvious to anyone watching his performance in the final two rounds.

It goes without saying that even though Tiger Woods is no longer the best golfer in the world, he is still by far the sport’s biggest draw. Simply put, when Tiger Woods is competing in a golf tournament, sports fans are going to stop what they are doing and watch his performance.

With that in mind, it is great to hear that Tiger is still planning on playing in the final three majors of the year. Even if he may not be a true contender at this point in his career of winning any of these upcoming events.
