Donald Trump made over half a billion dollars from his golf clubs and resorts over the past 16 months.
The news comes thanks to the latest financial disclosure forms as the former president seeks a return to the White House in November.
According to Newsweek, the clubs connected to the financial windfall include Doral, Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster in the United States and Turnberry in Scotland. The biggest moneymaker was reportedly the Doral golf resort outside Miami.
By comparison, Mar-a-Lago, where Trump keeps his residency, netted $6.9 million in that 16-month period while Bedminster club in New Jersey made $37 million.
As the magazine noted, Trump also disclosed a potential $100 million in liabilities from three civil lawsuits in New York. That number would certainly make Trump’s financial outlook less rosy.
By contrast, Turnberry earned the equivalent of $33.5 million. And it’s there where Trump angered many fans by trying to recoup even more money.
Trump is raising prices at Turnberry, making it the most expensive course in the world. The price has gone from $228 at any time to $1,296 before 1 p.m. in 2025 and $706 after that time.
The move is reportedly due to many customers playing a round of golf and leaving the resort.
“We were finding that a lot of people were booking up tee times during the peak times of the year but only came to play golf and then left,” Turnberry general manager Nic Oldham said in a statement.
“In many instances, people were choosing to play the Ailsa but stay somewhere else nearby. That meant our hotel guests were able to stay in the hotel but couldn’t get access to the course,” Oldham added. “By blocking out these peak tee times, we are able to offer greater playing opportunities to our best customers.”
