Every now and then, a ball will take an awkward bounce in sports and either provide us with something to laugh at, or something that looks extremely painful. This strike, courtesy of a Fort Madison (Iowa) Holy Trinity Catholic High volleyball player, provided us with both.
Trinity was hosting Winfield-Mount Union (Iowa) High in a girl’s volleyball match and after a Winfield-Mount Union serve, a Trinity player gave a perfect set to her teammate who spiked . The ball rocketed directly into a Winfield-Mount Union’s player’s face, ricocheting about 30 feet before landing perfectly under the foot of an innocent bystander that was on his way out of the gym, causing him to fall flat on his backside.
The video also gives us a classic example of high school humor, as some of the students start to chant, “Facial! Facial! Facial!” after the Winfield-Mount Union player goes down. Gotta love high school.
