I’m not exactly sure how to take this one, but I will just laugh in the interim. Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft is claiming that Vladimir Putin stole his XXXIX Super Bowl ring which he earned after his Patriots knocked off the Philadelphia Eagles. Kraft met Putin at an event in 2005 and the details unfolded as documented below.
“I took out the ring and showed it to [Putin], and he put it on and he goes, ‘I can kill someone with this ring,’ ” Kraft told the crowd at Carnegie Hall’s Medal of Excellence gala at the Waldorf-Astoria. “I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out.”
The NY Post claims that Kraft was urged not to ask for the ring back by US government officials, and so we are where we are now. I’m not sure if I believe this fully, but it is making me giggle.
