We give the Oregon Ducks football team a good amount of grief for having (what feels like) a new uniform each week, but this latest iteration is one we fully support. The Ducks will be sporting pink helmets and gloves in order to raise money for cancer awareness and research. They will be auctioning off 25 of the helmets in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which is a charity devoted to fighting cancer in women and also bears the name of after former North Carolina State basketball coach Kay Yow.
According to Oregon’s athletic department:
Coming together in support of a common cause, the University of Oregon will rally a larger team to battle one opponent that touches us all: cancer. Nike and the University of Oregon will auction a limited number of the Ducks’ pink helmets to raise funds via www.kayyow.com/ducks
