I spent a good 14 years of my life growing up in the shadow of the Golden Dome. I lived through the ’88 championship, through Lou Holtz, through Ron Powlus, Jerome Bettis, Tony Rice, The Rocket, and hundreds of others so important to the ND legacy. I got out of there around 1995 and I could not be more pleased about it. I couldn’t imagine the agony of living through season after season of disappointment when there really isn’t much else to do in that town except hit Grape road’s Steak ‘N Shake. ND football was life and still is for South Bend, however now it has hit a new low.
Watching the ND vs USF game this Friday was painful (even from an ex ND fan) to sit through and my only comments were how great it was of Touchdown Jesus to give the Irish a chance by twice postponing the game for a rain/lightning delay. I was wrong apparently; NESN brought to my attention that UFO’s were spotted during the delays, and there is even video. Check out the video for yourself and surely you will understand ND can not be held accountable for their dismal performance this past Saturday, it was the UFO’s.
