Not the smartest play by Joshua Richardson who is the vice president of event presentation and broadcasting for the New Orleans Hornets this weekend at a Newark airport. Joshua was detained and charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon and was released shortly after the incident.
Joshua claims that he had grabbed the his wife’s bag, instead of his own, and that was the bag which contained the weapon. The security folks at Newark Airport found a .38-caliber handgun in the luggage which Richardson was carrying, according to Port Authority police.
According to the NY Post:
“The investigation revealed the gun was legally registered to his wife,” an airport official told The Post last night.
“He flew up from New Orleans on Wednesday and was flying back.
“He said he inadvertently took his wife’s luggage with the gun stored in its inside pouch.”
