It seems the shoes of Brian Scalabrine have been filled. Rookie Kent Bazemore may not log a ton of time on the court, in fact he has only played 28 minutes this year, but he dances every game like no one is watching. The 6′ 5″, 201 lbs shooting guard has slowly become a fan favorite for his celebrations on the bench, and we are also now sold on Mr. Bazemore. Check out the incredible compilation by YouTube user LilPharmacist11 which features Kent celebrating and cheering his teammates on during the first half of the NBA season. If you have a heart and love the game of basketball, you will be an instant fan.
Justin Taylor of SFBay.ca reminds us that even a bench player can give a team the spark needed to produce a 22-10 record.
Kent Bazemore’s ridiculous 12th-man enthusiasm has spread through the whole bench. His reaction to damn near every good play has become almost as entertaining as the play itself.
You can’t underestimate the value of a bench that is completely enthusiastic and engaged from tip-off to the closing buzzer. This undrafted rookie has been the catalyst for this phenomenon, which is why the team only ships him to Santa Cruz for one night at a time.
Do you, Kent.
