If you think Florida A&M, Florida International, Savannah State and Louisiana-Monroe had a rough time on Saturday (combined final score of their games: 295-14), at least their team bus didn’t burst into flames on the drive home. Tiny Division II Concordia College (Alabama) was en route to a game against Miles College when their bus exploded. A passing car managed to capture the carnage on video:
Making matters worse, almost all of Concordia’s equipment was destroyed in the fire. Considering that was all the equipment they had, they will have to borrow pads and uniforms from local high schools. They also need balls, cleats, pretty much everything in order to continue playing out the season.
