A mother in Orem, Utah (aka, “Family City USA”, aka Mormon Central) took a trip to the local mall recently and came home with an unexpected haul: $567 in t-shirts from PacSun. Judy Cox was shopping with her 18-year-old son when they walked past a window display featuring mannequins dressed in PacSun’s provocative “Visual” line of t-shirts, which are imprinted with images of scantily-clad women. Judy immediately demanded the store manager remove the t-shirts lest fire and brimstone rain down from the heavens because she was “…concerned about the youth and the children that would be viewing this.”
The manager actually agreed with Judy’s sentiments, but couldn’t do anything without corporate approval, so Judy did what any sane person would do in this situation: she bought the entire remaining lot in an effort to save future mall-going children from the horror of viewing images of half-naked women. Due to the line’s popularity (sex sells, Judy!), she only walked away with 19 in total, all of which she plans to return near the end of PacSun’s 60-day return window. Because if there’s one thing worse than seeing offensive t-shirts in a window display, it’s the sin of actually owning one, let alone 19 of them.
Note to parents: pulling stunts like this is a one-way ticket to getting disowned. Also, she looks like a delight, doesn’t she?
