I’m not an EDM fan and couldn’t tell you what any of the artists look like, except for Skrillex and Steve Aoki. This guy absolutely looks like Steve Aoki and he used his looks for one of the best pranks at a music festival ever. Photographer, Jarrad Sang, walked around Perth, Australia’s Stereosonic Festival for three hours and as you can see from the video, people really just wanted to take a selfie with the impersonator.
This isn’t the first time Sang has gotten attention for looking like the EDM star either:
Yeah so I get mistaken for Steve Aoki a LOT. Especially as a photographer working in the music industry (although I tour with guys like Passenger – not quite the same genre). It’s been a weekly thing for the past five years… at music festivals, bars, on Instagram… it even happened on the streets of Barcelona once. So the other day when I saw that New York catcall video I wondered what would happen if I did the same thing… but as Steve. At stereosonic. Where he was headlining.
My favorite part of the entire video is the concerned festival goer telling Sang “you should be on da stage!”
